Terms of service
By signing up for or using Lightrion (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. We’ve tried to keep them short and honest.
Who provides the Service
The Service is provided by MREDTECH LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA (“we”, “us”).
What the Service does
Lightrion provides a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes search and retrieval over indexed copies of publicly available Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code. It is intended to be consumed by MCP-compatible AI coding tools.
Service status
The Service is in active development. This means:
- The Service is currently provided free of charge. A free tier is intended to remain available for individual developers, researchers, and small projects; we may introduce paid plans for organizations with higher-volume needs.
- Features, rate limits, indexed content, and availability may change without notice.
- The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or upgrades.
- We may discontinue or substantially modify the Service at any time, with a reasonable notice period if practical.
Your API key
- You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential.
- You may not share, sell, or transfer your key.
- Use of your key from any source counts as your use, even if performed by a third party.
- We may revoke your key at our discretion if we believe it is being misused.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to derive the underlying embeddings or replicate the index for unauthorized redistribution.
- Use the Service to send large volumes of queries with the primary intent of scraping or cloning the index.
- Reverse-engineer, deobfuscate, or attempt to extract source code of the Service itself.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other access controls.
- Use the Service to abuse, attack, or otherwise harm third parties (including making it part of a botnet, scraping operation, or denial-of-service attack against another service).
About the indexed content
The Service indexes source code published by the Android Open Source Project under the licenses that govern that source. AOSP is a trademark of Google LLC; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or any of its subsidiaries.
When the Service returns code snippets to you, those snippets remain subject to their original licenses (typically the Apache License 2.0 for AOSP). Your responsibility to comply with those licenses when copying, modifying, or redistributing the code is unchanged.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability of the Service.
In particular, the relevance ranking returned by search_code is an
approximation, and AI-generated answers derived from the Service’s output remain
subject to the limitations of the AI tools producing them. You are responsible for
verifying any code or information before acting on it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MREDTECH LLC’s total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us for the Service in the preceding 12 months, or (b) USD $50.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MREDTECH LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service in violation of these terms or applicable law.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by ceasing to use your key and asking us to delete your account.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, in particular if we suspect a violation of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. If we make significant changes, we’ll email registered users at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wyoming, unless applicable consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you additional rights that cannot be waived.
